About Dr. Ladd McNamara

Ladd McNamara, M.D. is an author, educator, and international speaker, with a passion for health, truth, justice, and freedom. To have lasting happiness and health, one must have freedom to pursue truth in all areas, including the principles of wellness. He has made it his life’s work to first understand, and then educate others on nontoxic healthful modalities that support optimal health, including advanced nutritional supplementation and lifestyle modification. He also feels the duty to inform others of the risks and dangers of certain medications, toxic chemicals in our food and water, and unhealthful lifestyles.

Dr. McNamara practiced as a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist in Atlanta, Georgia, making a difference in many lives. He incorporated quality nutritional supplements into treatment regimens, allowing for accelerated healing, and a reduction of symptoms of diseases and disorders. As a result, he developed nutritional supplement protocols for mitigating many disorders, which is the basis for his online program, Dr. Ladd VIP.

Dr. McNamara affectionately known as “Dr. Ladd,” retired from medical practice on Dec 31, 2003, and moved back to his hometown of San Diego, California. He continued to lecture on the power of nutritional supplementation domestically and internationally, authored books, and created health science educational programs.

One of Dr. Ladd’s greatest joys is hearing back from the thousands of people from around the world whom he has impacted with education and advice on optimizing health; many of whom were frustrated by the lack of results from traditional medical means.

Dr. McNamara created tools to reach even more people, including audio recordings and books, which are now available as audio books on iTunes and Audible. Two of his best-selling tools are the audio books, “The Cholesterol Conspiracy,” and “The Power of Cellular Nutrition.” His other books on menopause, breast cancer, prostate cancer, pregnancy, and presenting quality supplements to physicians, along with “The Cholesterol Conspiracy,” have been incorporated into his online program, Dr. Ladd VIP. By adherence to the principles covered in the Dr. Ladd VIP program; specifically, a passion for life, improving personal relationships, and nutritional supplementation, people should be able to experience more joy and health.

After Dr. McNamara graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University in 1983, he then graduated and received his Medical Doctorate degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1989. He completed his medical residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in 1993. During his Ob/Gyn residency, Dr. Ladd was awarded “The Teaching Resident of the Year” in 1990 for his knowledge, skills, and ability to quickly comprehend and apply various medical principles. He then received the “Teaching Resident of the Year” in 1993, for his passion and ability to effectively teach medical students.

Dr. McNamara conducted medical research in the fields of human infertility and cancer. This research resulted in publications in the medical journals, “Fertility and Sterility” and “Cancer,” respectively. He was a wellness consultant on optimal health and longevity with the accounting firm of PriceWatherhouseCoopers, with his involvement in the “Partner Survival Program.” In this program he educated partners of the firm, both in group lectures and in personal consultations, on optimizing vitality, intimacy, and overall health.

In 1997, Dr. McNamara founded the Medical Advisory Board for USANA Health Sciences, the manufacturer of high quality, science-based nutritional supplements. He served on the board for over ten years, assisting USANA scientists with product development, and educating medical professionals and the lay public regarding the application and power of nutritional supplements. After he completed his tenure serving on the Medical Board, he continued to serve in those capacities out of enjoyment.

Dr. Myron Wentz, the founder of USANA Health Sciences, publicly recognized Dr. Ladd’s passion and years of service to USANA, when he personally named him as one of the four global finalists for the prestigious Dr. Wentz Vision Award.
